How early can peri menopause symptoms start?
Perimenopause symptoms can start as early as the late 30s or early 40s for women. However the average age women start noticing symptoms is typically in their mid-40s. Peri menopause is the transitional phase before a woman actually goes through menopause, which is no period for 12 consecutive months. This transitional period an last anywhere from a few months to up to 10 years, before menopause, depending on the individual.
So what are the common early symptoms of perimenopause? These can be;
Irregular periods: Periods may become longer, shorter, heavier, or lighter.
Hot flashes and night sweats: Sudden feelings of heat, often accompanied by sweating.
Mood swings: Anxiety, irritability, or depression may become more common.
Sleep disturbances: Trouble falling or staying asleep.
Vaginal dryness: Due to hormonal changes, this can lead to discomfort during intercourse.
Decreased libido: Changes in sex drive are common.
Fatigue: General tiredness that is not easily relieved by rest.
